Moto X (2015) shows its face in new leaked render

The third-generation Moto X has already leaked a few times, but until now we’d only really seen the back of the device. Now we’re getting a somewhat blurry look at the front of the new phone thanks to a fresh render of the device

Despite its low quality, the latest Moto X leak does reveal a few new things about the upcoming smartphone. We can see Motorola’s Active Notifications feature running on the screen, so clearly that handy software tweak is sticking around. In back we get the same design pictured in earlier leaks, with the camera and dimple connected by a small metal strip. The rest of the rear panel appears to be made from a Kevlar material similar to the company’s DROID Turbo design.

Based on recent reports we’re expecting the Moto X (2015) to come in wood, leather, plastic and at least one new option; it’s possible that could be an extra-durable Kevlar shell. Other rumored specs include the choice between a 5.7-inch or 5.2-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon processor, 3GB of RAM, stereo speakers and a USB-C port.

We’re not expecting Motorola to unveil its latest flagship phone until later this summer, but it’s possible the company could be pushing for an earlier launch. With all these recent leaks it an official release might be just around the corner.
