The recently re-branded The Coalition and Gears of War producer Rod Fergusson dropped in at Microsoft’s E3 conference to announce… you guessed it. A brand new Gears of War!
Gears of War 4 will launch for the Xbox One on an unannounced date. However, I gotta say, it was the weakest showing of all the impressive games Microsoft brought with them this year. I mean, how do you go from that futuristic Hololens Minecraft display right into decade old chainsaw guns? Nothing about this game seemed new or different from the older ones, even the graphics.
It looked more like an Xbox 360 game than an Xbox One game.
At least the muzzle flash looked great, but the live play demonstration was the weakest in an otherwise perfect show from Microsoft. Maybe it is still early in development, but call this one a scratch from me at E2015. Wait until next year and maybe it will have some more polished graphics and not be played in total darkness.
Gears of War 4 will launch for the Xbox One in Holiday 2016.
