Last we heard, the rumored Galaxy S6 Plus was going to pack a 5.5-inch display, but a new report claims Samsung could go even bigger with a curved 5.7-inch screen. The latest specs come from SamMobile and its anonymous tipsters, who generally tend to be pretty reliable.
Beyond screen size, the report also notes that the Galaxy S6 Plus will run Android 5.1.1 out of the box. That doesn’t come as a huge surprise, but it’s still good news. Based on earlier leaks we’re also expecting a Snapdragon 808 processor, a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel shooter up front.
The device’s official name is still up for debate as well. We’ve been referring to the new phone as the Galaxy S6 Plus, but SamMobile suggests that it might actually be called the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. That’s definitely more descriptive, though it’s also a mouthful to say. Samsung recently trademarked the term “S6 Note,” which also makes sense as a possible name for the rumored phablet.
We won’t know anything for sure until Samsung makes an official announcement and unveils the device later this year. We’re still expecting the Galaxy S6 Plus (or whatever it’s called) to arrive in September alongside the Galaxy Note 5, though some reports have suggested it could be unveiled a lot sooner.
