DROID Turbo Lollipop update in testing limbo

by Todd Haselton | June 11, 2015June 11, 2015 4:20 pm PST

Motorola has a solid track record pushing out Android updates to its smartphones, with one exception: the DROID Turbo. The smartphone remains one of the few remaining flagship devices that still hasn’t received an update to Android Lollipop. It’s sort of bizarre, and the carriers are usually the ones to blame, but at least Motorola has a brief update for us.

“Hey, I wanted to give a quick update on our progress on the DROID Turbo 5.1 lollipop upgrade since there seems to be A LOT of inaccurate information out there,” Motorola’s senior director of software product management David Schuster said on Google+ recently. ” We are still in the lab test cycle and things are looking good. We have not provided a launch date yet, but I will let you know as soon as the update is available.”

We know a lot of folks are waiting anxiously for the DROID Turbo update, and we hope it arrives sooner than later.
