Armikrog dated for PC release on August 18, new trailer

Pencil Test Studio’s Armikrog was the first Kickstarter campaign I backed and enthusiastically followed from beginning to end, and it has just beaten Mighty No. 9 to the punch as the third game I will receive. The studio has announced that it will release its awkward, claymation puzzle game on August 18 for the PC, and the full package will set gamers back $24.99 with 10 percent off a pre-order on Steam.

Wii U and PlayStation 4 owners will have to wait until a future date to play the game.

In addition to the announcement, Pencil Test Studios has also prepared a “video blog” trailer from one of its characters, Beak Beak. The foul mouthed dog creature, voice by actor Rob Paulsen, gives an informative and halfheartedly desperate rundown of the horrible situation he and his master Tommynaut, voiced be Mystery Science Theater 3000’s Michael J. Nelson, have stumbled into.

Alien creatures, insane plant life, prisons, and captors. You know. Rough stuff.

Pencil Test Studios teamed up with veteran designer Doug TenNapel of Earthworm Jim and The Neverhood fame to make Armikrog a reality. The art style of this weird looking title should be more than recognizable by fans.

Look for it on August 18 for the PC. Wii U and PlayStation 4 versions will follow soon after.
