LG G4: Here’s Another reason to choose it over the Galaxy S6

by Todd Haselton | June 8, 2015

The LG G4 and the Galaxy S6 are two of the top Android flagship smartphones on the market right now. The G4 is attractive because it features a removable battery and a microSD card slot, while the Galaxy S6 has a more premium industrial design. Now there’s another reason you might want to consider the LG G4.

The folks at iFixit recently tore open LG’s new device, and ultimately gave it a repairability score of 8/10, which is pretty good. The Galaxy S6, by comparison, received a pretty awful 3/10 score. iFixit praised the G4 because the rear panel and battery can be removed easily. It also highlighted the modular components that make it easy to replace each one independent of another.

The G4’s major ding came from its fused display assembly, which fuses the glass to the LCD panel. If either breaks, you’ll need to replace the whole thing. Check out the teardown in the gallery above.
