Apple Maps gets support for public transit

by Todd Haselton | June 8, 2015

Apple on Monday finally announced that public transit directions will soon be available in Apple Maps. Public transit will launch in select cities initially.

You can also search for directions that only use public transit or walking, and you’ll see a brief list of all the steps you need to take — just like on Google Maps. Unlike Google Maps, however, Apple will show you all of the entrances and exists into each transit station.

The first markets that will offer public transit directions include Baltimore, Berlin, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, London, Toronto, Mexico City and Washington, D.C. That’s in addition to even more that will be available in China.
