Nokia’s unique Z Launcher for Android has received a big update that finally adds support for home screen widgets. Users will also find a handy alphabetical app list that puts all of their software just a swipe away.
Z Launcher made its Android debut last November, and it’s currently still in beta. But thanks to its intelligently adapting interface, unique search features, and intuitive gestures, it has already won over plenty of fans. Support for home screen widgets will surely bring more.
Widgets have been a staple of Android since the very beginning, and many users simply can’t live without them; Nokia says widget support is the most requested feature from Z Launcher users.
In the latest Z Launcher update — version 1.2.0 — you can add widgets to the dedicated widgets page by tapping and holding on the display, then dragging and dropping the widgets you want. Z Launcher also allows you to resize them to suit you.
The update also brings an “A to Z App List” — a dedicated drawer that can be accessed with a simply swipe from the left edge of the screen. It contains all of the apps and games on your device, making them easy to access and find from the home screen.
Nokia also promises bug fixes and performance improvements, so long time Z Launcher users should find it is now faster and more stable.
