Sorry Moto 360 owners, but you’ll have to wait a little bit longer before the 5.1.1 update hits your smartwatch. The software has been slowly making its way to the Android Wear family—lead by the LG Watch Urbane—but it’s still not quite ready for Motorola’s wearable, which, hello, is currently available at a huge discount.
Responding to a customer inquiry on Twitter, Motorola said, “Performance is not quite there,” when referring to the 5.1.1 update. The company followed that up by stating that it’s working with Google to ensure when the software does become available, performance is in tiptop shape. While the wait will be frustrating for Moto 360 users, knowing that Motorola is working to ensure peak performance is comforting.
Motorola still hasn’t officially stated when the software will be available, and, indeed, it doesn’t appear as if the company really knows. I’d much rather be hit with a surprise announcement that the software is available rather then Motorola missing a deadline. Anyway, we should see the update sooner rather than later, barring any major setbacks.
