“OK Google” bug for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge fixed

A bug prevented the “OK Google” command from working properly from any screen on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, but Google says a fix has been issued that activates the feature.

“We are happy to share that the “From any screen” function has been fixed for the S6 and S6 Edge devices on the Google Search App (GSA), and the fix is actively rolling out to users” a Google support community manager said recently. Google said that you’ll want to make sure that you’ve updated your Google Search App to version 4.5 or newer to get the fix. The feature comes at the cost of some S-voice functionality however, which Google said will now be limited. “Users who prefer this can turn off “OK Google” from any screen,” Google said.

The “OK Google” function, especially when available from any screen, is one of our favorite features in Android, and we’re glad Google made the fix a high priority. Hit the source to read more, or update the Google Search App to start using the function now.
