Over the weekend, Microsoft and 343 Industries quietly launched two great pieces of content for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
First up, and free for all comers, is Remnant, a re-imagined remake of Relic from Halo 2. This is a multiplayer map, and it’s one of a handful of fan favorites.
Second, and probably the most exciting bit, is the release of Halo 3: ODST. The offbeat and quiet campaign from the Halo universe has been made free to all players who tried The Master Chief Collection online prior to December 14, 2014. It’s an apology release for that group as a way to make up for the really bad online issues during that stint in the game’s life.
If you grabbed the collection after that December 14 date, Halo 3: ODST is available for $4.99. Pretty sweet deal for the campaign.
The updates also include 100 brand new Achievements, if grabbing those is your bag. I’ll be nabbing this today. Anyone else?
