Google just announced an insane 16-camera rig it designed with GoPro specifically for shooting virtual reality content. This gadget isn’t meant for regular consumers. Instead, the goal is to make it way easier for filmmakers to work in VR without assembling their own rigs.

Google also took the opportunity to announce a new “Jump” platform for shooting VR video, though it’s won’t be available until later this year. The software and hardware will work together to combine all 16 cameras into a single shot.

Google says it will offer early access to some people. As for the product itself, there’s no word on price though all those cameras certainly won’t come cheap.
