Guess the device: The hype that fizzled

I took a visit out to the Irvine office this week, so it was my turn to take a stab at “guess the device.” I found this one sitting around similar products, though this little gadget comes in at a much lower price. That said, it can’t do as much as its counterparts, and hasn’t been very successful because of that.

In recent years, the promise that this product once offered has been duplicated by other firms trying to get into a similar space, which has probably made things hard for this product and the company in general. Once upon a time, however, there was a lot of hype around this device, because there wasn’t anything else like it on the market.

And here’s one last hint, if you haven’t gotten it yet: I’m still not sure I can pronounce the product’s name properly.
