Microsoft knocks $150 off Core i5 Surface Pro 3

Microsoft recently discounted one model of its Surface Pro 3 tablet. The company is now selling the Core i5 model of the Surface Pro 3 with 256GB of storage for $1,149. That’s $150 off the standard selling price, and just $150 more for twice the storage of the $999 model.

Microsoft hasn’t applied the discount to any other version of the Surface Pro 3, just this single model, and we’re not sure why. Perhaps it’s just an early discount for Father’s Day. Also keep in mind the new price still doesn’t include the Type cover keyboard.

The Surface Pro 3 is a solid computer, especially if you need a laptop/tablet hybrid that runs a full version of Windows. We think it offers much better bang for your buck compared to the cheaper Surface 3, which isn’t nearly as powerful.

We’re hoping that Microsoft is planning to introduce a new Surface Pro 4 sometime in the near future, perhaps in tandem with the release of Windows 10 this summer, but you might want to take a look at this deal if you can’t wait that long.
