GTA V fans pay tribute to Red Dead Redemption on 5th anniversary

Red Dead Redemption turns five years old on Monday (ugh), and bar short of actually playing the game, what’s a better way to celebrate than to use Grand Theft Auto V‘s PC video editor to make a fan video? Well, no point in doing it anymore, because someone has already gone and made the perfect one.

Our idols and heroes over at GTA Series Videos have created a lovely tribute to the early days of John Marston’s career as a murderous outlaw. Instead of his traditional Western getup, this video re-imagines the gunslinger as a wanderer who joins a bike-gang, robs banks, and hunts down the law with a minigun.

Is this what they mean when they use the phrase a “modern Western?”

The team used the “Modern-ish John Marston Mod” to make its video. Be sure to check it out.
