Google’s latest Android Wear 5.1.1 update makes Play Music integration on smartwatches even better by giving users the ability to browse their music libraries. It’s basic right now, but most Play Music users will find it incredibly useful.
In addition to a “Listen Now” button, which lets you flip through albums and tracks you played recently, Play Music on Android Wear now lets you browse “Recent Playlists,” which displays both playlists you listened to recently, as well as recent purchases.
Play Music on Android Wear also lets you access “Radio,” which — as you might expect — brings up the service’s radio stations.
The big thing you can’t do on Android Wear just yet is browse your entire library of albums and songs — but that’s probably not something you’d want to do on a watch anyway, particularly if your catalog is fairly large.
The new Play Music app is built into Google’s latest Android Wear 5.1.1 update, which is available now on the LG Watch Urbane and the Asus ZenWatch, and coming soon to other Wear watches. Other improvements with this update include support for Wi-Fi, gesture controls, and emoji.
