Marvel on Friday announced Rosario Dawson will return as Claire Temple for the second season of Daredevil, which is scheduled to hit Netflix next year. Temple was an integral part of Daredevil’s inaugural season, acting as Matt Murdock’s love interest. Her return was inevitable, but it’s how she’ll feature going forward that’s even more notable. Marvel says Dawson’s return is part of a larger exclusive deal that will allow her to appear in other Marvel shows coming to Netflix.
Marvel has four other original programs coming to Netflix, including A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and The Defenders. That means we could be seeing a lot more of Temple going forward, as she’s available to appear in all four, plus Daredevil.
“After working with Rosario in the first season, we knew instantly that we had to have her back for our second,” said Head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb. “Claire Temple proved a fan favorite in Season 1, and we can’t wait for fans to see all the plans we have for her next.”
Since its debut last month, Daredevil has gone on to become a critical success among media and fans. We gave it a positive review, so check that out if you haven’t. A.K.A. Jessica Jones is scheduled to come out later this year, while Luke Cage is set to hit in 2016. The Defenders will unite the characters from Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
