One might think Nike should be worried about its fitness tracking business. After all, the company’s popular Nike+ service is now competing directly with Apple’s own Activity app on the Apple Watch. But, according to Nike CEO Mark Parker, the two firms are still working together on new products.”We’re working with other partners and Apple as well,” Parker told CNBC, adding that you can expect “more from Apple and Nike, two great brands with lots of potential and opportunity.”Nike also boasts a pretty massive “digital community,” with over 60 million users. Parker notes that it can still serve those customers with fitness tracking apps, along with other services like commerce, communication and “sport experiences.”It’s unclear exactly what Nike has planned, but the company may need to tread carefully if it wants to stay on good terms with Apple. Expanding beyond fitness tracking is a good place to start, and we’re curious to see what it comes up with next.
