Motorola already confirmed plans to release an updated Moto X in 2015, but until now we didn’t know what to expect from the third-generation device. A new report suggests the company is gearing up to release a device that should offer a solid upgrade over last year’s Moto X.
According to a list of specs sent to STJS Gadgets Portal from an anonymous inside source, the Moto X (2015) will come packed with some seriously high-end hardware. The device apparently sports a 5.2-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, a 16-megapixel camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, a Snapdragon 808 processor, a 3280 mAh battery, 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of storage. It also runs Android 5.1.1 along with some of Motorola’s extra software tweaks and features.
Motorola didn’t unveil the Moto X (2014) until September, so we’re probably at least a few months away from the new flagship phone. It’s possible some of those alleged specs could change between now and then, though we’ll be pretty happy if the company can deliver on this new leak.
We’ll be on the lookout for any more leaks leading up to the official announcement. Check back soon, and in the meantime you can revisit the current Moto X in our hands-on gallery below.
