Apple Watch will soon be available for in-store pickup

The Apple Watch is still only available for purchase online, after which Apple will ship you the unit. That looks set to change soon, however, as the company’s online store is preparing to add a “pick up” option for nearby stores.

9to5Mac first noticed the new radio button, which currently isn’t active but may be soon. It suggests that Apple has perhaps found a way to increase the supply of its wearable to such a point where it can start to stock its Apple Store locations with new units. We’re not quite sure if this means you’ll be able to walk into a store and buy one, but at least you can order it online and then go grab it at a nearby location.

The button says “available soon” at the moment, and it’s unclear how soon that actually means. Some Apple Watch models on Apple’s site still say shipping in July, so it may be a bit longer until in-store pickups are active.
