Lumia Camera Beta app launches with advanced camera features

If you want to test the latest camera software for your Windows Phone, you may want to head to the Windows Phone Store to check out the new Lumia Camera Beta application. It’s available for select devices right now, including the Lumia 930, Lumia Icon, Lumia 1520, Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL, but it’s probably certainly worth checking out if you own one of those devices.

The beta includes some of the features we first saw in Lumia Camera 5, which was part of the Lumia Denim update that was already available for some of the phones above. It’s now its own stand-alone app, however, and provides faster startup, moment capture, rich capture, the “latest imaging algorithms for better image quality,” the ability to shoot 4K on the Lumia 930, Icon and 1520, faster access to the front-facing camera and more.

Keep in mind that this is still listed as beta software, so it’s possible you’ll still run into performance issues, bugs and other problems, but you might enjoy it if you’re looking to push your camera to its limits. Hit the source to download the Lumia Camera Beta app now.
