Microsoft first announced its Office 2016 suite back in January, but didn’t provide a whole lot of detail in regards to what the software will offer. Instead, at the time, it focused on the more portable and touch-friendly versions of Office that will be free and will ship with mobile Windows 10 devices, such as phones and tablets.

Now Office fans can try out its brand-new full-fledged suite.

Microsoft released the Office 2016 Preview for all on Monday, which is available for everyone to try out, but also for folks who understand that it’s still very much in development. You can install the preview if you’re already an Office 365 customer, or you can test it on the house by entering NKGG6-WBPCC-HXWMY-6DQGJ-CPQVG as the product key after downloading either the 32-bit or 64-bit build direct from Microsoft. You don’t need Windows 10 installed, it will run on Windows 7 or Windows 8, too.

Microsoft didn’t detail any of the features in its launch of the preview, so you’ll need to dig in to see what’s different. ZDNet‘s Mary Jo Foley said that early testers have explained that there isn’t much new just yet, but that should change as Microsoft nears the fall launch of Office 2016. Hit the source to get started with the preview now.
