More leaks regarding Disney Infinity 3.0, and the most recent gives a look at how Disney Interactive plans to incorporate Star Wars. The films are being set aside so the studio can focus on the popular Star Wars: The Clone Wars cartoon series, with Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano will be the first two characters.
German retailer Saturn is responsible for this leak by posting Disney Infinity 3.0’s starter kit. In addition to Anakin and Ahsoka, the box art hints at a release of Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-wan Kenobi, R2-D2, C-3PO and Darth Maul. Princess Leia also rides a Tautan on the box, giving hope that the original trilogy will be getting some love as well.
Of course, I’d much prefer to see the original trilogy get more precedence, but if The Clone Wars is to be Disney Interactive’s focus instead of the prequel films, then no complaints here. Anakin Skywalker might actually be likable, and the cartoony aesthetic won’t clash with the traditional Disney characters.
Speaking of which, Disney Infinity 3.0 also saw another leak recently from China which revealed Mulan, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Tron’s Sam Flynn and Quorra, and Frozen’s Olaf will also be joining the line-up.
The leak hints at a PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One release with a pricing point at €59.99 to €69.99. Mid-August is the assumed release date.
