Amazon Instant Video for iOS gains HD streaming over cellular

Amazon on Thursday updated its Amazon Instant Video application for iOS with new support for HD video. And, better yet, you can now stream that video over cellular networks instead of being limited to doing so over Wi-Fi.

Amazon Instant Video version 3.0 should also help make sure that you’re not streaming too much video, at least if you don’t have a huge bucket of data from your wireless carrier. It allows you to “control your mobile data usage settings,” Amazon said, while also allowing you to control the download quality, which means you don’t have to stream big HD video files if you don’t want to. You can also play videos over cellular to your Apple TV if a Wi-Fi network isn’t available, Amazon said.

Hit the source to download the updated app now.
