Remember doing irreparable bodily harm to legends and monsters of ancient Greek mythology? Remember the dude who covered his body with the ashes from his dead wife’s and son’s cremated bodies? Remember sacrificing caged humans to open gates or ripping off a man’s head to use it as a flashlight?
In other words, anybody remember God of War? It was this popular series for about three or four years, and poof! It vanished into thin air! Well, Sony certainly remembers those days, and it wants to prod the minds of its faithful audience with a remastered version of God of War III.
Third game in the series, three screenshots at a time. I see how this works, Sony. This remaster, which was formally announced last month, will run God of War III at a steady 60 fps and 1080p resolution. Plus, those screenshots can be recreated with your own hands as it comes with a “Photo Mode” which will allow you to capture Kratos at his most violent.
God of War III Remastered will be released for the PlayStation 4 on July 16. Speculation abounds that Sony’s former golden boy will make a special appearance at E3 in June, and this is just a way to stir up excitement.
I’m still putting money down on Kratos taking his special brand of pain in an open-world setting. Because what wayward franchise hasn’t been rebooted in an open-world setting?
