Final Fantasy XV “Episode Ducae” demo getting a 2.0 update, skipping E3 this year

My highlights from the video gaming world in 2015 still rests somewhere between Bloodborne, Resident Evil HD Remaster, and Final Fantasy XV “Episode Duscae.” It might seem a little facetious to list a demo as a highlight during a so-far mediocre year, but I just really enjoyed exploring every last little corner of that Noctis’ mini-world.

Not everyone agrees though, and that’s fine. Square Enix has taken the feedback about its demo to heart, and Director Hajime Tabata has announced plans to give the demo a 2.0 update! During an episode of its Active Time Report, Tabata explained that the update would feature a new targeting system, better camera control, a more steady frame-rate, and an update to the game’s controversial dodging system.

In other words, he’s given four more reasons to jump in and explore all over again! Can’t wait! The update will be released some time in May.

On a sadder note, Tabata announced that the team does not have enough time to prepare a presentation for E3 this year, and Final Fantasy XV will not be present during the show. A bit strange considering Square Enix is hosting its own press conference for the first time in years. What will it be showing off in its place?

Instead, we’ll have to wait until August for the game to be shown off at gamescom.
