Konami is pulling P.T. from PlayStation Network on Wednesday

If you haven’t had a chance to download Konami’s excellent interactive Silent Hills trailer, P.T., then be sure to do so soon. The demo will be pulled from the service and never be available again after this Wednesday, April 29.

In fact, it might end up being the only part of Silent Hills that you are ever going to see! The pulling of the demo is the latest in a series of events surrounding a perceived fallout between Konami and famed Director Hideo Kojima. A feud from within the company walls has spilled out into the public over the last month or so, and many speculate that Kojima will be leaving the company following the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

That would leave him unable to direct Silent Hills, and it doesn’t seem like anybody will be left at Konami’s rapidly shrinking gaming division to fill in his large shoes. It looks like Konami has elected to cancel the game, sending this message to Kotaku.

Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills’ project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued.

In terms of Kojima and Del Toro being involved, discussions on future Silent Hill projects are currently underway, and please stay tuned for further announcements.

So again, be sure to download P.T. and leave it on your PlayStation 4, because it will be gone forever after Wednesday. Gaming Editor Eric Frederiksen is a huge fan, wanting to add it to our Games of the Year list for 2014, and you should check out his excellent write up about it.
