He’s the ghost with the most. Everyone’s favorite purple undead apparition, Gengar, has been confirmed as the next Pokemon to be appearing in Pokkén Tournament, Bandai Namco’s Tekken style Pokemon fighting game. You can see his debut in the livestream trailer above.

I hope his fighting-type Pokemon opponents have some special abilities to fall back on, or else they will be utterly useless against this adorable demon. Gengar is a popular and deadly Pokemon on the competitive scene, and he was the very first Pokemon seen by many fans after debuting in both of the original Red and Blue versions’ intro videos.

Gengar’s abilities will be taken straight from the video game, and he has the ability to tap into his handy Mega-evolution that he picked up in the most recent Pokemon generation. He joins Pikachu, Machamp, Lucario, Gardevoir, Blaziken, and Suicine as a playable fighter.

Pokkén Tournament will be released in arcades this summer in Japan. No word of a home console port for the Wii U has been dropped yet.
