Galaxy Note 4 handsets on T-Mobile will be receiving Samsung’s latest Android 5.0 Lollipop software this week after the carrier confirmed the upgrade has finally been approved.
“This just in!!! Technical Acceptance on #Note4 Lollipop software update achieved,” announced T-Mobile Senior Product Manager Des Smith on Twitter this weekend. “Should start to rollout next week! Woot woot!”
T-Mobile has been a little slow at getting Lollipop out to the Note 4, with AT&T starting its rollout in the U.S. more than a month ago. Verizon also brought the update to its customers early this month.
The upgrade brings a whole host of visual improvements to the Note 4, with big changes to TouchWiz and Samsung’s own applications, which now sport Lollipop-style themes and floating action buttons.
It also adds features like Smart Lock, lock screen notifications, and multi-user support — plus big improvements to performance and battery life.
We don’t have an exact release date from T-Mobile yet, so be on the lookout for a software update notification on your Note 4 over the coming days.
