Rumors of an HTC Butterfly 3 have been fluttering around for a while now, but a new leak may reveal exactly what to expect from the upcoming device. A fresh benchmark on CompuBench offers a full list of specs for what looks like a powerful new HTC smartphone.
It looks like the HTC Butterfly 3 will come equipped with a 5.1-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 1.9GHz, 2.7GB of RAM (probably 3GB at launch), and 23GB of storage (we’re guessing that’s actually 32GB total, but 23GB of usable space). It also packs a 19-megapixel rear camera, a 12-megapixel front-facing camera and runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
Overall that’s a pretty big update compared to the HTC One M9, though we’re expecting a plastic design for the Butterfly 3 instead of the M9’s all-metal body. It’s pretty close to the One M9+, too, but with a more powerful processor.
Unfortunately, it’s unlikely the HTC Butterfly 3 will be available in America, leaving us stuck with the underpowered One M9 for now. HTC’s flagship phone is sill a solid choice, but it’s hard to recommend when the company is already offering more powerful options overseas.
