Ultimate Hulk vs Wolverine

The headline says it all folks! Telltale Games, the development studio behind The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, has just signed a deal with Marvel and will hopefully have a game ready for release by 2017.

Marvel made the announcement at an event in San Francisco on Thursday. Marvel Executive Producer Mike Jones did not state what heroes Telltale would be allowed to work with, but he did strive to say that the game would be authentically Marvel.

“If it doesn’t turn heads, if it doesn’t get you excited to talk with your friends, it’s not a Marvel game. It has to command attention. It takes a long time to find the right partner. We have one special game we’re excited about.”

Of course, this is wonderful for Telltale Games, who is just rolling in world class franchises these days. Borderlands, Games of Thrones, The Walking Dead Season 3, Minecraft, and now Marvel. Someone is going to be making a lot of overtime in the coming years.

And after Marvel, what’s next?! What could possibly be bigger? Dare I say it that this would take Telltale one step closer to the series that we all want them to make? Begins with an “S” and ends in “tar Wars.” Disney, Marvel, Telltale, a nice golfing event one afternoon, and boom, it’s a reality.

Let’s all hope and pray for clear weather on the course!
