Halo: The Master Chief Collection, in case you’ve been living under a rock for the last half a year, launched in a completely broken state. The online multiplayer, a significant portion of the title, still doesn’t work as perfectly as it should.
As a way to apologize to fans, Microsoft and 343 Industries announced that they’d give Master Chief Collection owners the campaign for Halo 3: ODST for free. The only catch is that you had to have played the game before December 19, 2014 in order to get the campaign for free.
Here’s the bit from Halo Waypoint that talks about the upcoming Halo 3: ODST release and the update of Relic.
Additionally, we’re excited about the progress of the Relic multiplayer map remake and the Campaign for Halo 3: ODST, both of which are on track to release within Halo: The Master Chief Collection next month with our next content update. Look for more details next month, including the final map name for the Relic remake, release date and more.
This little blip comes alongside a massive patch just released for The Master Chief Collection. The patch is 1.6GB in size, and it “focuses on ranking, matchmaking penalties, stability, as well as game-specific improvements for each title.”
Are you looking forward to playing Halo 3: ODST in remastered form?
