Facebook on Wednesday released a new dialer app for Android called Hello. The application pulls in information, such as profile pictures and phone numbers from your Facebook friends list, so you always know who’s calling.
That means you don’t need to have the phone number saved to your address book: so long as your Facebook friend has provided it to the social network, you’ll have access right inside the app. Facebook Hello expands beyond just your friends list, however.
It also curates information on local points of interest that are registered with Facebook. If you want to call an Italian restaurant down the block, for example, you’ll find information such as the hours and phone number right inside Hello—so long as that company is registered with Facebook.
The social network said the app is still in testing, but it released it to Google Play for folks who want to give it a whirl; you can find a link to Hello in the source below.
