Adventure Time game heading to every console in the Land of Ooo

It’s the story of a boy and his magical dog, and nothing but grand adventure lies ahead. Wait, I think I’ve heard this one before when it was called Earthbound.

Adventure Time stars Finn and Jake are set to make their debut on the current generation consoles now that Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations has been confirmed for development. Developer Vicious Cycle has turned the popular Cartoon Network series into a 3D adventure game in the vein of classic point-and-click adventures.

The game will be released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo 3DS. Only the PS Vita seems to be out of luck.

Publisher Little Orbit CEO Matt Scott describes the game as a departure from other Adventure Time games.

“We received a lot of fan feedback asking us to bring our next Adventure Time game to next generation consoles in 3D, and we’re thrilled to be delivering that and a lot more. This new game is a complete departure from previous Adventure Time games. We have created an intriguing classic adventure game set in a richly-detailed 3D Land of Ooo where players can check out Land of Ooo locales, talk to characters, sharpen their creative puzzle-solving skills, defeat bad guys and just have fun.”

“A large part of the charm of Adventure Time is the incredibly creative and expansive world of characters that live in the Land of Ooo and combine to create a really unique story and connection,” says Vice President of Cartoon Network Enterprises Pete Yoder

“In Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations, Vicious Cycle has developed a game that truly immerses players into that world and offers fans a 3D gaming experience unlike anything we’ve ever done.”

Again, Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations will be released in November for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo 3DS and PC.
