Spongebod is Excited

The last few years at E3 have been sort of a mixed bag for Microsoft. It has either gone completely off the rails and focused on the likes of the Kinect or television, or relied pretty hard on third party content to buoy its presence.

That’s not the case for this year’s show, or so hopes Xbox boss Phil Spencer.

Speaking with fans on Twitter, Spencer indicated that some new, exclusive IP will be at the show. He offered that he’s aiming to make this year’s show more about first party efforts.

Now, of course it’s Spencer’s job to say these sort of things, but he does say that he thinks this year might be its best ever for first party stuff.

Here’s hoping that’s just not hyperbole. I’d love to see Xbox start absolutely killing it with new and exclusive IP. Maybe something from Rare will do it?
