Game delays aren’t bad – it means the developer knows their game isn’t finished yet. But after a few delays, it can be easy to just expect a game to keep getting delayed. We don’t have anything to worry about with The Witcher 3, though, as CD Projekt Red announced today that their sprawling, open world RPG has officially gone gold.
Heads up on the incoming quote, it has some obviously excited expletives within.
“We worked so damn hard over the past three years to bring you this game,” said Adam Badowski, Head of Studio at CD Projekt Red. “We spent literally tens of thousands of hours to [create] an adventure that will kick your ass and make you want to come for more.”
We’ve been looking forward to The Witcher 3 since it was announced, and have been clamoring for it since we had the chance to play it for a few hours this winter. Now it’s within reach, and we can hardly wait. CD Projekt Red has boasted anywhere from 100 to 200 hours of game, with even the developer’s fastest tester taking 25 hours when they skip every cutscene, line of dialogue, and side quest and take the fastest path available.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt releases May 19 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Time to clear up some hard drive space and upgrade those video cards.
