Tales fans have a long summer of waiting ahead of them. The 15th main game in Bandai Namco’s RPG series, Tales of Zestiria, has finally been confirmed for a North American release this fall for the PlayStation 3.

In addition to the confirmed release window, Bandai Namco also confirmed that the game would come with a dual audio option, allowing fans to play with the original Japanese voice acting or the English localization. The game will come with English, French and Spanish text options.

It’s my guess that this will close out what has easily been the most productive and important generation in Tales‘ long history. Before the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Bandai Namco’s JRPG franchise was no more than a neat little niche with a few popular cult hits over the years. It reached a critical high with Tales of Symphonia on the GameCube, but beyond that, the earlier games were either really hard to come by or forgettable.

Nowadays though, the franchise cranks out a game every year or so, and it has a much better presence than it once did. From Tales of Vesperia to the duo Tales of Xillia games and now Tales of Zestiria, the franchise turns up in the news far more frequently and demands a lot more respect.

Siliconera has reached out to Bandai Namco regarding the controversial DLC package which tells the tale of a character named Alicia who leaves your party. In Japan, it was sold for ¥1,300 on top of the normal game, but fans are wondering if it will just be included in the English version. As of yet there has been no clarification.

Tales of Zestiria will be released for the PlayStation 3 this coming fall.
