This is one of the more bizarre flagship launches in recent memory. OEMs typically try to keep information about new smartphones close to the vest, but not LG. The company has already confirmed the camera, revealed the user interface and more. On Thursday, it revealed the phone on Facebook.
LG has already teased a leather back panel for the G4, most prominently in the invite for its G4 press event on April 28. The new photo confirms that feature and has the caption: “Always have authentic luxury in hand. The brand-new LG G4 with vegetable-tanned leather cover. See the great, feel the great.”
It has the same stitching that we saw in earlier leaks, which some people seem to like though I personally find a bit off putting. I prefer the more seamless design found on the 2nd generation Moto X.
The G4 is expected to pack all of the latest hardware trimmings including a first class camera, a Snapdragon 810 processor, a Quad HD display and more. We’ll be reporting live from LG’s event on April 28.
