Dark Souls II sells 2.5 million, Dragon Ball Xenoverse at 2 million

Dragon Ball Z

Bandai Namco has shared a few sales figures and financial results of a few of its recent biggest hits at a Global Gamers Day event.

First up was last year’s big action RPG Dark Souls II, a game which set the record straight about niche games being a hit on the video game market. The brutal action game crushed the souls of 2.5 million gamers worldwide over the course of a year, and the audience should only get larger too now that Dark Souls II: Sins of the First Scholar has brought the game to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Bandai Namco’s other hit that it mentioned was Dragon Ball Xenoverse, which has crossed the 2 million mark after just two months. The game has become a quick fan-favorite within the franchise thanks to its unique character creation system, and it’s nice to see the positive reception pouring over into the financial figures. Its personalized RPG formula is one I’d like to see Bandai Namco expand on in future DBZ games.

So, good news all around for Bandai Namco. Keep on fighting the good fight… and stuff… I guess.
