The UK arm of Microsoft has elected to drop the price of the Xbox One once more. The console will now move for £299.99, down roughly £130 from its price at launch.

The price cut news comes from the official UK site for the Xbox One. Head there, and you’ll be met with this banner.

The PlayStation 4, on the other hand, is still selling for £349.99 officially, though retailers regularly offer the system at 30 or so pounds less than the suggested price.

This £299.99 version of the Xbox One doesn’t include the Kinect, of course. I imagine the extra cut will do well to move consoles in the near future, especially given the fact that this fall will see the release of titles like Halo 5: Guardians.

The Xbox One’s price has tumbled quite a bit in the UK since its launch. It initially sold for roughly £429, and then that fell to £399, £330 and finally £299.99. Microsoft’s clearly pushing to compete in the UK market, and I imagine the PS4 is giving the system quite a run for its money.

No word on price cuts in other territories yet, but we’ll have that news if and when it comes.
