Bastion, which was announced for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita back in December, is now available on PlayStation 4.
This port of the game was done by BlitWorks, who has previously ported games like FEZ to the system, and it runs in 1080p at 60 frames per second.
If you’re in North America, the game is available now, and should be out in Europe by the time this is live. If you’re planning to play it on the PS Vita, it sounds like a bit more development is required. Supergiant Games’ Creative Director, Greg Kasavin, wrote in the comments of his PlayStation Blog post that there isn’t a “real estimate” right now and that the Vita is “pretty different under the hood than the PS4.”
If you’ve somehow missed Bastion as it hit just about every platform in existence, it’s a beautiful but tough action game. Kasavin says you could technically call it “an action RPG where an old man talks to you the entire time,” and indeed Bastion marks one of the few cases where giving a game a narrator that talks as you play has actually worked, adding atmosphere and weight to the game, weaving the tragic story of war and cataclysm along with the action.
The game is available for $14.99, though there’s a 10 percent discount for PlayStation Plus members. Kasavin says he expects the game to be cross-buy enabled.
