Deus Ex: Mankind Divided leaked, headed to PC, Xbox One, PS4

Square Enix has been doing something weird over on Twitch with its “Can’t Kill Progress” channel. There’s been lots of sitting and waiting, a guy with a robot arm, more sitting and waiting. All we knew for sure was that this was for a game coming from one of Square Enix’s western studios. Many of us assumed, though, that it was going to be a Deus Ex game of some sort. Things like identical fonts and, of course, that guy with the arm only lent credence to the theory.

Now, thanks to some images cached on a Russian website found by a NeoGAF user, we have confirmation that not only is this weird campaign for a Deus Ex game, but it’s a proper sequel to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the 2011 first person cyberpunk title. The title looks to be Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and it will feature Human Revolution’s protagonist, Adam Jensen. The page suggests that the game will feature much better artificial intelligence that has enemies tracking you down in groups instead of letting you take them down one at a time, as well as a variety of opportunities to influence characters in the game with your behavior.

As Polygon notes, Square Enix filed a trademark application for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided last year. Just following the leak, GameInformer magazine unveiled their cover for the month of May – something they were likely planning to do alongside the conclusion of the Twitch event initially. The plot summary there has this game taking place two years after the first, tasking Jensen with hunting down cybernetically augmented terrorists in a world that fears augmented people.

We can likely look forward to additional information coming out as GameInformer‘s features on the game come out.
