Sprint has confirmed that it will begin shipping pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S6 tomorrow, April 6, ahead of the handset’s retail debut next Friday.
Samsung’s official launch date for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge was April 10, but that hasn’t stopped some U.S. carriers from sending out the handsets well in advance. T-Mobile began shipping its pre-orders late last month, and now Sprint is following suit.
The carrier has confirmed on Twitter that pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 will begin making their way to customers tomorrow. There’s no word on whether or not S6 Edge pre-orders would also be included, so it could be that customers are waiting a little longer for that.
Sprint still won’t be selling the Galaxy S6 in its stores until April 10 — the same day other carriers will begin offering the device — so only those who are buying online for home delivery will get their handsets early.
We don’t know why T-Mobile and Sprint have decided to ship Samsung’s latest devices before their official launch date, while AT&T and Verizon — and carriers outside of the U.S. — are stilling to Samsung’s schedule.
But the move will surely attract new customers who are itching to get their hands on these devices and don’t want to wait.
