Dragon Quest X is a game which fills me with so many mixed feelings. It’s such a beautiful 3D representation for the series (happiness), but unlike Dragon Quest VII 3D, I’ve totally given up on it even coming to the West (despair). For the kicker, if it even came to the West (apprehension), I wouldn’t play it because it’s an MMO, and I’ve banned myself from the MMORPG genre (stubborn determination).
At any rate, the third version of Dragon Quest X has been announced, and with it comes a wonderful new trailer, iconic theme song and all. It’s simply the most charming game on the planet these days with its colorful scenery and hilarious character designs. The new story revolves around a new breed of dragons introduced to the world.
It is subtitled Dragon Quest X: Legend of the Ancient Dragon Online.
The expansion will launch for the Wii U, Wii and PC in Japan on April 30. This is usually where I would tell you that a localized version has not been announced, but you already knew that. Don’t expect it to ever happen, and focus all wishes on Dragon Quest VII for the Nintendo 3DS instead.
