In an effort to make sure there’s plenty of applications to choose from ahead of launch, Apple recently began accepting Apple Watch app submissions to its iTunes App Store. Developers who have been working on apps can now submit them so that they’ll populate and will be available for download by consumers on April 24.
Apple announced the news on its developer website, where it also links to all of the tools that are available for developers to make sure their apps are ready to meet the company’s approval process. That includes design resources, human interface guidelines, WatchKit development tips and tools to take advantage of Glance, actionable notifications and more.
Popular apps such as NYTimes, Evernote, MLB at Bat, The Wall Street Journal and more are already approved, likely thanks to early partnerships with Apple, and we expect many, many more to be available at launch.
