Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin price, specs, and other details

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is going live this week on Steam, and the console versions are scheduled to follow next week on April 7. The “Game of the Year Edition”-esque  upgrade comes with a whole host of payment options and other details that make it one complicated piece of software to buy into.

First we have the PC version. The DirectX 11 version will come with everything that the current-gen consoles have. Upgraded graphics, new enemy placements, new enemy AI, new six player multiplayer for the PC version only, and new weapons, armor and other additional content. This version will cost $19.99 for those who have all the DLC purchased and $29.99 for those who own the game but none of the DLC.

Buying from scratch for the DirectX 11 version will be $49.99. Save files will not be transferable between the DirectX 11 and DirectX 9 versions, either.

As for the DirectX 9 version, it will be $39.99 to buy the package without already owning the game, but the update will be free for those who already have it on PC or the previous generation consoles.

Complicated much? Check out the specs below and see if your rig is up to speed. Digital Foundry puts the PlayStation 4 version as the current best, but we have yet to see what the PC version can put out.
