The next product from OnePlus may turn out to be a drone, but we’re still waiting for the company to announce a successor to its flagship smartphone. Now a new report may reveal one more detail about the highly-anticipated handset.
According to GizmoChina, the OnePlus 2 may feature “laser focus fingerprint identification.” The biometric scanner will apparently come built into a new physical home button that’s flanked by capacitive buttons on either side. It’s possible this could drive up the price, though we’re still expecting the company to offer its new phone at razor-thin margins.
Otherwise we may be getting at a pretty similar device to the OnePlus One with the same basic design and some upgraded hardware. We’ve heard rumors that the company could opt for a slightly smaller (or bigger) display, though we thought the 5.5-inch footprint on the One was a solid choice.
The OnePlus 2 probably won’t get an official launch until later this summer or later, leaving plenty of time to work out the final details. It may not be too long before the company starts teasing its next handset, though for now we’re still waiting on next month’s big announcement.
