I thought something was a little fishy about that first live action trailer. I mean, who is this upstart little punk Locke, and why does he think he gets to upstage the one and only Master Chief in his own video game series? Sorry buddy, not happening this time around.
Microsoft is apparently trying to be a little cryptic with the Halo 5: Guardians hype wagon. A first trailer, which also announced the release date, showed a wounded Master Chief helpless to stop an angered Spartan Locke from possibly killing him. This second trailer that aired shortly afterwards shows the roles reversed with Locke being the hunted and Master Chief being the hunter.
No other hints about the nature of these clues are immediately noticeable, but Microsoft seems to hint that there is something tucked away in between the lines with a hashtag compelling fans to #HUNTtheTRUTH.
What is this, a Metal Gear game? These trailers are mere child’s play if that’s what the marketing team is going for.
Halo 5: Guardians will be released for the Xbox One on Oct 27.
