SpaceX mastermind and Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, has some exciting news to share, but what?
The famous entrepreneur on Monday morning teased an upcoming announcement, but naturally refrained from sharing any significant details; it’s not a car, though it does fall into the Tesla product line. If you’ve been closely following Musk’s affairs, there’s virtually only one possibility: a home battery.
In February, Musk hinted that he was exploring ways to produce a stationary battery for powering the home, and it’s looking like he’s ready to reveal how it’ll all go down.
Musk previously voiced his excitement and potential for the market, saying these battery packs would be “plug and play,” with a design that would attach to the wall. Tesla is currently building out a gigafactory in the Nevada desert, which is where these batteries could be made. The details of said batteries haven’t been revealed, but consumers would seemingly be able to power their home and simply recharge it as needed.
All will be revealed on Thursday, April 30 at 8 p.m. PDT.
Major new Tesla product line — not a car — will be unveiled at our Hawthorne Design Studio on Thurs 8pm, April 30
