Xenoblade Chronicles X gets new art, gameplay and screenshots

The official Japanese site for Xenoblade Chronicles X has updated once more, and this time it brings with it a wealth of cool art, screenshots and a gameplay video.

Perfect timing, too, since I’m in a Xenoblade Chronicles sort of mood after just publishing our review of the New Nintendo 3DS’ Xenoblade Chronicles 3D. This just makes me want to play that more.

We have the new screenshots in a gallery at the head of this post, and they show off some areas and monsters. Then we have this dashing set of concept art, the first of which is now my phone background.

Finally, we have a cool gameplay video that shows off some encounters with larger monsters. I assume these are of the unique variety, and they all seem to be around level 20 or higher. Mmm, challenge.

I’m officially more than ready to dive into my next massive JRPG with Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Wii U. The game is set to release on April 29th in Japan, so expect a lot more in the way of videos and screenshots leading up to that date. The western world doesn’t have a confirmed release date for this one yet, but we know it’s coming in 2015.
